Flashcards

Flashcards work best when the front asks one question and the back gives one short answer. Front: What is the capital of France? Back: Paris. Avoid putting a whole paragraph on the back — if you cannot check the answer in two seconds, the card is too long.

Add a card to begin. Click the card to flip it.

How to use

  1. Enter the front (question or term) and the back (answer).
  2. Click Add card and repeat for the set.
  3. Click a card to flip it between front and back.
  4. Use Next and Previous to move through the set.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a flashcard answer be?

One word, one date, or one short sentence. Long answers turn flashcards into notes, which are slower to review.

Should I study cards in order?

Start in order to learn them, then shuffle the order in your head by jumping between cards so you do not just memorize the sequence.

How often should I review?

Review missed cards the same day, then again after one day and after a few days. Spaced review beats a single long session.
